Yes it works have been on the time run many times but I always lose the roll for the mount :(. One warning if everyone does not get to the mound it could be hard to kill the mobs with less than 10 people. Also don’t forget about using the window to get to lynx.

Great, I can't wait to try skipping the adds on the gauntlet before the eagle boss. Just one question: After you rez and kill the Tempest, why do you have to back track and kill all the others? Do they all charge up the ramp when you pull the boss otherwise?
Thanks for the great blogging, PTD, and thanks for the tips, everyone!

@Hari

Yes, sorry it was the healy Shammy, and not Hari who died and got lost that last time. :)

@tkc

I'm already very excited to get back in there. ZA for me was as exciting as my 25 man raiding has been. Those boss fights are intense, I like that!

@PME|

That sounds like a neat trick, I'll suggest it the next time.

@ools

Thanks for your tips as well. On the second attempt, I was the last to die. I figured out that I had to keep a triple LB stack on myself to stay alive in that eagle phase. That sounds like a good tip on watching the tornadoes, they are tough to make out and avoid. I'll try it.

@ARA

I've been surprised at the fights in MH and BT as well. Even Teron in BT is more about people playing a "mini game" well with the constructs.

As far as my UI, I'll have to do a post to cover it at some point, it's evolving and starting to get to where it's right where I want it. To create my bottom section, where all the action is, I'm using a few mods.

SimpleMap (I think?) to make the map movable and square.
eePanels I use to make that actual black background
Bartender3 is the Bar Mod I use to move, resize and otherwise mess with my action bars
Recount is the only other thing down there.

@All

Thanks for reading!

Thank you for the post. I'm appreciating your blog a lot, because you're actually developing as a player, as is your guild, and you're blogging about that. I'm in a similar position; ZA is starting to feel absolutely do-able; kara is rather like a 10 man slaves pens we do to relax on a non-raid night... and I'm hoping to do at least some of sunwell before wrath.

I'm a monoaltist through and through. So I get bored reading about kara runs with yet another set of alts, winning yet another set of alt gear. Whoopedee-do :P (no offence intended to the altaholics out there)

I was also kind of suprised at how easy those early bosses in hyjal and black temple are. And how little actual raiding time is required to progress, when people play really well. Ciderhelm on tankspot.com talked a lot about this being the case, and it seemed like a distant dream when I first heard him. But once I moved up the hardcore ladder, I found it to be the case. For example we downed lady vashj recently, it was a guild first, and we only spent around 6 hours working on her in total, before we got it. 6 hours is only 3 or 4 heroics for a group of competent players. Makes we wonder what all the fear of being in a "hardcore" guild is all about. I've never enjoyed WOW so much, and I still have a life.

(I can also confirm the ZA gauntlet "cheat" works very well. Just make sure you die together in the spot PMEI mentions)

btw, if you have a moment, can you post what mod you use to get your bars in that nice black area at the bottom of your screen? I've been looking for some simple mod like that for ages...

Neat tip from PMEl. Does that actually work? I'm eager to try it now.

Another tip I've found useful: On the tornado phase of ZJ, just stack yourself with 3 LB's, and be sure to keep them rolling. That leaves 3 GCDs to throw single LB's at anyone taking damage, and the ticks on you will easily make up for the penalty you take from casting. Meanwhile, run around, avoid the corners, and watch the sparkling blue bubbles on the ground rather than the bodies of the tornados.

PTD I have gotten so much great information from your website thank you. Now please let me give you a little :) On the gauntlet going to the eagle boss everyone mount up and follow your tanks all the way up past the last guy (The guy that stops the gauntlet) then everyone die on a pile of bones on the left hand side. Then someone rez up and rez everyone else. Kill the last guy then make your way down the gauntlet the opposite way. If you do this correctly you will have no birds and no axmen.

ZA is tough but it is fun. I like it better than Kara because there isn't so much trash. Sure, the trash is harder in the form of the gauntlet runs, but that is part of the fun of ZA.

Anyway, keep at it. My main is a hunter and I take him to ZA on a guild run once a week. Last night was it and we got a full clear in 2.5 hours. When we first formed this group it would take us 3 hours just to get the first three bosses down. Simply put, it takes lots of practice to get this place down. But it is worth it. The loot is nice. My hunter got this last night:

Yeah it was a lot of fun. I kept reading up on it, but just wasn't really prepared this time. Next time we'll clear it. BTW, it was the Shammie that got lost not the Pally. Next time the Pally will be putting on his stam gear before getting throttled by all of the birdies and the Protectors - ouch.
