What I really love about the feral spec is you can choose, sneak in for an easy quest complete, or tank through the fodder to complete the quest. All the while due to the drain of different pools (aka mana, energy, rage) you usually can easily manage your mana pool. As others have said, I’ve pulled of quests that are on average 3 to 4 levels higher than my druid! How? the versatility to adapt to a situation that changes. Instead of pulling one you pull 3…kill the 1st in cat form b/c of high damage output…jump out heal..then two Heal over times…jump back in as a bear…now you have more armor and health..not to mention you have 2 Heal over times working to give you a buffer from the damage from 2 foes. These kinda of tactics have kept me alive through unbelievably bad odds.

Long story short, the druid / feral spec had been one of the most fun and entertaining classes I’ve played. And it is one of the stronger solo’ing classes around (of course in my opinion).

I’ll leave you with this…

Early on when running the stocks..I was tanking with a 5 man group…when the main healer was getting taxed, I’d jump out of bear, heal a few teammates heal myself with HoT and jump right back into combat…at the end of one horrible battle the group said….WOW not only did you tank half the foes..you healed us too…I said yep that’s what we do…we multitask…and I’ve been loving the druid ever since!!!

BUT– I have managed to amass a good deal of nice tanking and DPS epics. So maybe respec’ing is the way to go.

Since someone mentioned a rogue. When I first started playing on my current server, I started a rogue, since I liked kitty druid on another server. I realized I didn’t like the rogue nearly as well as the druid, (parked at 65 now) since it was much less versatile.

So if you feel like it, I can just say go for it.

First, if you’re interested and up for it, GO FOR IT.

I have no life – er I mean, my druid is my 3rd level 70 toon. First was my warrior and he’s about the best setup toon I have. Leveling him was… I don’t want to sound disparaging, but there were times when I felt like I was beating my head against the wall. Learning to tank well was a good experience and I enjoy the job. But the thought of leveling another warrior makes me cringe.

My hunter took a long, meandering road to 70, but I got him there. He was my first toon and he got parked many times so I could mess around with a flavor-of-the-month alt. Got him there and got him set up with a decent set of welfare epics so I could show my face in Kara if need be. Hunters damn near level themselves and they make GREAT farmers.

The druid now… I got him to 32 before he stalled out and I let him sit for months. The itch to try something new overwhelmed me one day and I dusted him off and got moving again. With the leveling curve changes, he flew, and I gradually realized what a joy he was to play. When I got to 68 and got flight form, I was just amazed. Even my wife, who has a strong dislike for my mistress (WoW) thought it was cool. All along the way from 60 to 70, I was comparing how well the druid did on things compared to the warrior and the hunter. I pulled off group quests solo that I never dared attempt with my other toons. I think if I had been smarter, I would’ve went with a druid in the first place and would only have the one level 70 toon. I went with dual gathering skills and had more than enough money for epic flight by the time I hit 70. Eventually I want to go resto with the druid and learn that avenue as well as I can. Always seems like a lack of healing slows us down as a guild.

If I had to level another toon to 70, a druid would be at the top of the list of possibilities. The flexibility is astounding. The fun factor (to me anyway) is incomparable. Go for it if you’re good with going over roads that may feel well traveled (but there’s some comfort in that too, isn’t there?). Good luck with your alt!

So I started another druid, lvled her to 55 balance and swiched over to Resto to run instances for the rest of her life. She lvled REALLY fast with the help of some friends. And since my main is a male feral druid and I made my alt a female resto druid I have no role issues. Ppl ask me why I roled another druid, I say she is his wife… But now I can fill any roll in a raid or group except CC…. I guess the mage will be next.

I am now leveling a BM/MM Tauren Hunter (59), Belf Prot Paladin (53), Undead Affliction Warlock (39), Draenei Shadow Priest (38), Troll Frost Mage (29) and soon to be starting a Draenei Enchancement Shaman. People always say to me, why are you leveling so many at one time. The reason? I like doing quests while they are still fresh in my mind.

I have considered levelling another druid, probably resto, but that will be in the distant future.

If anyone is interested in leveling with my Shaman, let me know. I always enjoy questing with new people. My toons all exist on either Antonidas or Exodar. I’m not against the idea of starting him on a different server, but things would be easier if I kept him near one of my home bases. Btw, I have no interest in PvP or RP servers.

Enough to respec to your heart’s content
50G is only 5 dailies, maybe 45-60 minutes on a bad day, so say 12K gold earned in 10 days…..and this is conservative, saying 10 days played. It will take me about that long to reach 70 on my Druid (Love, love, love, love), but I have two other L70′s (hunter, rogue) so I know the fastest, most efficient way to level.

I would think twice…………

So, I guess, I’ll play the devil’s advocate and tell you this.

Reasons not to level another druid:
Can you really stand not having most of your abilities that you’re used to?
The time involved. (I believe time is put to better use learning a new class.)
You can still level another tradeskill — with another character…

Perhaps you could level a rogue instead? Rather similar, but not close enough?

Just my two cents.

I suppose I may be in minority, as I have noticed more than a few guildmates choosing to level multiple alts of the same class. Sometimes the same class as their main, sometimes not. But I just cannot bring Myself to level another Druid. First reason I suppose is the existence of other classes. I guess I just really want to try other classes when I level and alt and “been there done that” applies a great deal for Me. Then there was the pain of leveling Lonetree in the first place. Balance/Feral scarred Me for life. Those were 31-point Hurricane days. Never again! Lastly, and this is mostly a RP reaction, but out of respect for the character I prefer to retain his unique status in My stable of toons. I don’t know if that makes sense, but every time I think about leveling another Tauren Druid it just feels wrong somehow. Maybe if there was another race available for us on the same faction… I have enough trouble with My Tauren shaman.

Nevertheless, the Druid class in particular seems to be just one of those classes that could be fun to have more than one of. If I hadn’t chosen it as My main (and if leveling it hadn’t been so painful) I might have been able to make another one some day. For now, I’ll stick with the Warlock and Warrior alts that I am leveling. My Hunter was a joy and I have a great time with these other classes, too much for Me personally to go back and Druid it up again.
